PROTOTYPING UPDATE

During the last weeks, we have worked hard on our final samples with the different suppliers. Now, we would like to show you the status quo of our products.

But first we would like to remind you to complete your Backerkit survey if you still have not. Most of you answered their survey very quickly, so we are going to close it in the coming days.

KOSMOS:

Some details of the pen required final tuning before we could start the production. For example, the anodizing process of the navy blue pen needed some testing to get the color shade right. We will go into production in the coming weeks and hope to be able to ship out the (Super) Early Bird pens on time before Christmas.

             
Another thing that kept us occupied is our new Pop-Up Store in Munich. If you are around you can come by, experience and touch the KOSMOS pen first-hand. This Pop-Up Store is part of an exhibition about German crowdfunding projects, so you will also get to know other interesting crowdfunding ideas there as well. You can find our pens until 14th Nov 2016 here:

POUCH:

We want to achieve a nice and soft feeling of our pouch and came to the conclusion that rather thin leather is the best choice. The leather will be double layered to make the pouch more robust. In that way, it will also look better since the leather backside will not be visible. Here's a photo of our pouch with Italian leather:

PACKAGING SOLUTION:

The photo below shows the final packaging of our KOSMOS pen. We kept the design simple and minimalistic. We are still thinking about the phrase on the lid of the inner box - any feedback is appreciated :)

Dear Kosmonauts,

the 30 days of our Kickstarter campaign have been crazy and incredible. We want to thank you for your awesome support! You brought the KOSMOS pen to life and we are very happy to send it around the globe to every one of you :)

We are working closely together with our manufacturer to make sure all pens get produced and delivered to every single backer on time. As you probably know, the manufacturing of a product is very intense and time consuming, but we will keep you up-to-date on production and fulfillment status.

It's too bad that we didn't reach our 55k Stretch Goal. But we talked to our supplier and decided to unlock the WARP BLACK version of KOSMOS anyways! We know that many of you like that dark version and it is one of our favorites, too. The Warp Black KOSMOS will also be a nice match for the upcoming iPhone 7 in Black.

 

 

 

We will send out a Backer Survey in a few days to collect the necessary information regarding:

• your shipping address
• your color choices
• and your add-ons

So keep your eyes open next week. You will be able to adjust your information until we go into production. A more detailed update and instructions about the survey will follow soon.

Survey Results: Free Refill + Colors + Clip

Hey Backers, thanks for taking part in our latest survey! Here are the results:
             

1) Leather Color for KOSMOS Pouch

Over 50% of you voted for Black as desired leather color and we are going to realize that.

Reminder: You just need to add €13 to your pledge to get the pouch.

2) Stretch Goals: Free Refill at 40k + New KOSMOS Color at 55k

In our survey, we also asked for your idea of a possible 40k Stretch Goal. Most of the replies suggested another color for the Kosmos pen (mostly black) and we received the same demand via private messages and comments. Because it is financially not possible to realize the 6th color pen at 40k, we decided to set it as a 55k stretch goal.

The second most suggested idea was to give away a free refill to every backer. We think that is a really great idea and set this as our 40k stretch goal now! So every backer will receive an additional black refill.

3) Progress of our Clip

We have been working hard on the attachable ring-clip for our pen. We will let you know, as soon as we have any information about the price and whether we can offer it as an add-on within our campaign. Right now, we can say for sure, that it will be available in our e-commerce store with free international shipping for all our backers.

KOSMOS Pouch:

we let YOU vote which leather color we should realize. Please fill out our SURVEY (1-2 mins). We also included questions regarding the next 40k stretch goal and whether you would like to get an additional clip for KOSMOS.

To get our new KOSMOS pouch, simply add €13 to your current pledge.

New Color Option: Night Sky

In our last stretch goal, we unlocked a new color pen. Almost 50% of our backers voted for the Night Sky pen with silver shaft, so this version will beautifully join our KOSMOS family. Of course, we would love to see the Warp Black version (25%) getting realized too. You can help us by sharing our campaign once more and make this beautiful product visible to more people.

Clip:

We are working on a suitable clip for our pen. We want to be sure that the clip is functional and a nice match to the KOSMOS design. Getting a proper sample and approving it takes some time, so we probably won't be able to realize the clip as a stretch goal within our Kickstarter campaign. But we will offer the clip later in our e-commerce store at www.stilform-design.de and all our backers on Kickstarter can order the clip with free international shipping.
